Are you intimidated by a 15 step skin-care regime? Do you only have 5 minutes to get yourself ready before getting the kiddos out the door (or on Zoom) for school?  Tired of not knowing what's going on your face? Same.

As a mom, multi-use products have been a game-changer, especially in my skincare routine. I have a new appreciation for Woman-owned brands like AcARRE (pronounced Ah-Care) that are creating products like Beauty Edit, with women’s health and schedules in mind.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Tracey Kearse Founder, CEO & Chief Chemist of AcARRE  about building her brand, staying motivated, and what's next!

Meet Tracey Kearse

LIB: Tell us about yourself and why you started your business?

TK:  While working full-time, I started a consulting business, Ready To Launch PD, for additional income and used that money to start AcARRE™ when family and friends' requested a beauty product they could use either on their faces, hands, or hair. As a chemical engineer & cosmetic chemist, I had the knowledge to develop products so in 2014 I started to think about what I wanted to create. In late 2014 I found out I was expecting and that’s what led me to multi-use products; because in becoming a mother I had to create products that were multi-use based on the little time mothers have for ourselves.

AcARRE™ is a natural prestige brand of multi-use bioactive beauty products for the beauty minimalist to age beautifully. Drawing inspiration from African and Pacific Island origins — using plant biodiversity — its products combine opulent, natural ingredients that deliver multi-level benefits, helping to re-balance the skin’s microbiome, bringing balance to the skin.

LIB: Describe your brand in 3 words.

TK: Minimal, Multi-use, Microbiome

LIB: What's your favorite part of running AcARRE™

TK: To own AcARRE™ and develop it into an amazing brand is my favorite part. Owning and growing AcARRE™ lets me know I am capable and worthy of great things.

LIB: What's next for AcARRE?

TK: Building more brand awareness, brand collaborations, more retail partnerships, and working on a new product.

LIB: What else do you want the Love, Indie B. community to know about you and AcARRE?

TK:  I come from a long line of entrepreneurs from my Grandmother, Parents, Aunts, and even sisters, so it is only natural for me to flourish in my own right at creating multi-use beauty products.

I am a driven entrepreneur, accomplished product developer, and esteemed chemical engineer and marketer with 17+ years of experience in innovation. Creatively, I enjoy brainstorming on innovative ideas that have a direct impact on consumers and the strategy that will drive those changes. Taking my aspirations to another level allows me to pursue my passion every day.

LIB: What's your top self-care tip?

TK: Less is more for flawless glowing skin.

LIB: What's your favorite beauty or wellness brand (other than your own!)?

TK: Hanahana Beauty is a consciously clean skincare + wellness brand. All of their products are made with natural oil, and shea butter sourced from the Katariga Women's Shea Cooperative in Ghana.

LIB: When you're not working on AcARRE what are you up to?

TK: When I’m not working on AcARRE, I’m either working on my Product Development consulting company, Ready To Launch PD, studying for my doctorate in Business Administration in Marketing, or spending time with my husband and son traveling when we can.

LIB: What inspires and motivates you?

TK:  What inspires me and keeps me motivated is my son. He takes on his day with a smile on his face. Even when something is new, he keeps his determination to keep going, figuring it out, and getting it done. Now he is only 5-years-old, so his tasks are different than mine, but he handles it all with determination, courage, and a smile. I make sure to stay positive for myself and my family. To make sure I’m a good role model.

Also, what keeps me motivated are all of the wonderful brand founders and friends I have met and connected with over the years. Their perseverance in obtaining their goals is what helps keep me going. I want everything great that life has to offer despite any obstacles that come my way and I'm determined to make that happen for myself and my family.

Calling All Beauty Minimalist

I love AcARRE’s minimalist approach to beauty. If you’re like me, you’ve been spending more time on skincare and self-care in 2020. I have discovered less is more for my skin! Experts agree  over-cleansing is wrecking our microbiomes

With Baobab oil, Rosehip fruit oil, and Kalahari melon seed oil, AcARRE’s Beauty Edit - Bioactive Dry Oil could be the head-to-toe hero product we’ve all been waiting for.
